If you haven’t visited the great Tumblr that the Bureau of Land Management has — My Public Lands — highly recommend you check it out today!

Today’s Washington Post chose some of the top BLM images for this gallery — http://wapo.st/XssiVC

mypubliclands:

We’re excited and honored that the Washington Post has run a feature highlighting 16 of their favorite photos from our Tumblr. According to the Post:

From redwood forests to Gulf Stream waters, workers from the U.S. Bureau of Land Management have photographed the often-remote terrain they supervise. Here are a few of the best images and descriptions from My Public Lands, the bureau’s lively Tumblr site, of the land that Woody Guthrie wrote “was made for you and me.’’

To the more than 43,000 of you that have chosen to follow us over the past 8 months, thank you. We love sharing stories about the science, history, beauty, and recreation on more than 245 million acres of public lands, and hope you’ll get out and enjoy your public lands!

See the entire gallery at http://wapo.st/10AvITb

The 2010 Holiday Giveaway (for Charity) - Though most of us here at A Football Report are students with not a whole lot of spare change lying around, we hope to spark something special with this.

Looking around the internet and the Tumblr community, I’ve seen loads of little holiday competitions that give viewers an incentive (i.e. Gift Cards) to tweet or comment on a post. Competitions like these promote self-indulgence, don’t they?

Well, that’s not good for society. The idea of our giveaway is that the incentive is to raise awareness for a charity or non-profit you truly believe in and want others to get behind and support. In short, the incentive is, for once, not personally driven. However, we do reserve the right to commend and show respect to those who participate. We want you to argue for something that goes beyond yourself.

So tell us, tell your followers, or tell your friends about a good cause you support this holiday season!
